With accordance to ACI report, Jeep Compass Trailhawk the much-awaited variant will start the booking from June 2019. This variant was already tried to launch in earlier 2018, but now finally launched in July month. For the Indian market, Trailhawk Compass was manufactured by Jeep. In the pipeline, the company has also included a new variant named “The Sport Plus” recently. In India, the best Compass lineup with the top variant will be Trailhawk.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with 4×4 Active Drive Low System. This is a proper four-wheel driving system which includes hill-descent control, a rear-locking differential, a low range, and Selec-Terrain system which is essentially used for additional Rock mode. There are five modes on the Compass for the Selec-Terrain system: Auto, Rock, Sand or Mud, Sport, and Snow, which is a value-added feature.
The Compass Trailhawk, the new trail variant has interiors with black color leather seats added with Trailhawk badging and red piping. It enhances the appeal and sports feel with steering and panels, gear lever with leather wrapped, weather floor mats, and dashboard with red accents. The equipment with safety standards is six rear parking sensors and Hill descent control. This safety features will be similar to the standard compass as well.
Engine & Transmission
Please be informed that the Compass Trialhawk’s official engine details have not yet revealed. However, the ACI report informed that as per India-spec the Trailhawk variant can come with a powered standard model with Multijet diesel four-cylinder engine, and same 2.0 liters.
Jeep has fine-tuned for better performance by using BS6 compliant powertrain. The transmission duties will be performed by an automatic gearbox with 9-speed ZF model. The performance and off-road capabilities will be boosted by the Selec-Terrain system and with 4×4 Active Drive Low System. The maximum power is 170 BHP.
The competitors like Hyundai Tucson, and Volkswagen Tiguan offers the same set of features provided by the Jeep Compass Trailhawk system.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk variant with the 2.0 liters Multijet II Oil burner will be expected to provide a decent mileage. However, the ACI reports that the diesel model with ARAI fuel efficiency claims 16.3kmpl.
Braking and Safety
Jeep Compass Trailhawk variant has the stopping power and upgraded to use the Disc units at both ends. This variant provides the various safety features like multiple airbags, the electronic brake force distribution are controlled with the anti-lock braking system, the brake assist, ISOFIX child mounts, central locking, rear defogger, rear parking camera, hill descent control, and many more.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk model will consist of multiple things to get an appealing look with new Trailhawk badges, front grille with the black accents, bonnet with the new sticker pack, chunkier wheels, and upgraded suspension set-up. When it comes to color options, they use the same set of shades like the standard model.
With multiple attributes like off-road capabilities and kit, high-tech features, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk with new options will be at a premium price when compared to Compass transmission with regular top-spec. The currently available Compass 2.0L 4×4 variant with Limited Option is available starting at Rs 21.99 Lakhs, and the top-spec transmission will be around Rs 35 Lakhs (ex-showroom price).
